Summary:
The Duck Creek Pop Warner Football League and the Village of Suamico are partnering together for the development of a new 20+ acre multi-use park in the Village of Suamico. This unique WIN-WIN partnership will contribute to the long-term health and physical well-being of the community while minimizing taxpayer burden.
The Village of Suamico will provide over 20 acres of land to make this multi-use park become a reality while DCPW will manage phase 1 of the development process and raise the initial seed funding. In addition, the Village will provide all associated ongoing park and field maintenance ensuring longevity and security for the future of the park. This multi-use park for the community will support numerous sports including football, soccer, lacrosse as well as many community events providing significant exposure and recognition for your generous sponsorship and donations. An agreement between DCPW and the Village has been executed and our goal is to have a final park design complete for community review and Village approval in mid-2008.
Phase 1 of the park development includes four fields. Two groomed "playing" fields and two "practice" fields for football, soccer and lacrosse; a concession stand and facilities, with road access and suitable parking. The park has room for four additional fields for a total of 8 fields to accommodate future growth. We are seeking park sponsors to raise funds to make this park a reality with a goal of breaking ground no later than spring of 2009.
Background:
The Village of Suamico (www.suamico.org) (pop. 10,895) is nestled along the shore of the bay of Green Bay approximately 5 miles north of the City of Green Bay. This fast paced, growing, full service community is characterized by its rural charm including area of woodland, farms, pastures, tastefully designed rural subdivisions, and environmentally sensitive areas. The Suamico Recreation Department strives to instill good sportsmanship and conduct from its participants and by partnering with DCPW, will be able to extend that vision not only for DCPW but other community based groups in Suamico and around the Green Bay area.
The Duck Creek Pop Warner Football League (DCPW) (www.duckcreekpopwarner.net) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and a member of the National Pop Warner football league providing youth football programs for children ages 8 to 12 for communities in and around the Green Bay, WI area including Howard, Suamico, Pulaski, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Krakow, Little Suamico, Abrams, Sobieski, Sampson, Anston, Kunesh, Hobart , Oneida and Pittsfield WI. The league was formed in 1999 and since then we have strived to ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all participants and instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and superior work ethic in the class and on the playing field. We have gained a solid reputation in the community of being a family-friendly organization having a positive impact on over 2000 youths and countless family members in our community. 2007 was our most successful year with nearly 30% growth having approximately 280 players participating on 14 youth football teams.

The Howard-Suamico Youth Soccer Association and Lacrosse America are also in support of this park and have a need for additional playing fields in the community. Because Soccer, Lacrosse and Pop Warner football seasons occur at different times of the year, we can ensure maximum utilization of the park and additional exposure and recognition to you from your generous sponsorship.
Park Location
The park location is in one of the fastest growing communities in the state and includes over 20 acres of land about 5 miles north of Green Bay.
The park site is north of Harbor Lights Road, East of Seafarer Way and South of the Suamico Public Works Department on Mink Ranch Road.
Your generous donation will help make this park a reality benefiting the community and our youth for years to come
Benefits of this park and your sponsorship:
- Contributes to the long-term health and physical well-being of the community
- Promotes positive youth development in a safe, secure environment in multiple sporting disciplines
- Sponsors become a part of history and a recognized community partner
